Vanda is an active community volunteer and has empowered young migrants, women and other marginalised communities in Ireland. She has been appointed an honorary role with a wide remit to manage the marketing and communications needs and overall
management of the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Dublin. She has been the lead organiser of the Philippine Embassy Outreach Missions in Ireland since 2016 after moving to Ireland from London. She has served over 5,000 Filipino overseas workers in Ireland in various transactions. A cum laude graduate in Broadcast Communication at
the University of the Philippines, Full Scholar MA graduate in Communication from Ateneo de Manila University, and a former lecturer at both top-tier universities, Vanda has over twenty years of experience and proven skills in digital and traditional marketing, customer relations, events management, public relations, partnership development, media, and audio-visual production.  She used to work at the Asian Institute of Management, the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education, and J. Romero & Associates in the Philippines then as a Business Development Manager of a fitness franchise in the United Kingdom and a Training Coordinator at Lewisham Southwark College in London.
Apart from the success of the first cross-border Brexit forum she facilitated in Cavan in June 2019, she received the Cathaoirleach’s (Cavan County Council Chair) 2019 Annual Award for the Social Inclusion Category for her exceptional achievement, effort and service in a voluntary capacity in County Cavan. She was also nominated by the Philippine Consul to Ireland for the 2020 Philippine Presidential Award under the Banaag Category for showcasing the Philippines, the good work ethic and cultural values of Filipinos, and for offering great assistance to Filipino nationals in distress over the past four years in Ireland resulting in life changing outcomes for those affected.
She has extensive experience in the voluntary sector having formed multiple community organisations in Ireland – the Filipino Association of Cavan, the Cavan Cross Cultural Community, Outreach Ireland, and the European Network of Filipino Diaspora-Ireland, as well as actively contributing to The Next Chapter Europe and Cavan Multicultural Society. Vanda contributes to the Filipino-Irish Community through her work with the cross-community groups assisting migrants with cultural integration, basic migrant rights and multicultural participation in mainstream Ireland. She has integrated her life and strives to promote inclusion for others in everything she does, working tirelessly to break barriers and stop exclusion and promote inclusion and integration.
Vanda is very well liked and respected in the advocacy groups she is involved with in Ireland where she has served long hours as a volunteer. She is commended for her selfless work, her commitment and dedication to working for the betterment of everybody.
Vanda plays 5 instruments: drums, ukulele, recorder, piano, guitar and composes music.
