Biography

Raquel Montero Calero is a multidisciplinary artist originally from Cordoba, Spain. She moved to Ireland in 2016. Based in Co. Cavan since 2018. Her art is influenced by the bizarre art of Dalí and the abstract art of Picasso. Her art can’t be defined as only one style.

Her pieces of art are mainly inspired by the people she meets who are represented ironically by elements that only she knows.

Emotions and feelings arise with every splash of paint or element she adds when she uses upcycled materials. Art is a medium for expression, beyond language. Art is therapy.

She is very often involved in community projects as she believes that art is present in every single strand of society.

The most recent work she’s developing includes visual art, sculpture research and performance.
